Homemade Gulab Jamun

Ingredients of Homemade Gulab Jamun
For Sugar Syrup:
2 cups sugar
5 cups water
1 tsp milk
1/4 tsp cardamom seeds
1/2 tsp saffron
1/2 tsp cardamom powder
For Gulab Jamun Balls:
1 1/2 cups khoya, grated
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup maida
1 tsp milk
Method
- Take bread slices and grind them to make fresh bread crumbs.
- Add cream and milk powder to it and mash it lightly.
- Now add milk in small pieces and knead soft dough.
- Now make small balls out of it and keep them in a plate.
- Heat ghee/natural oil in a pan and deep fry the dough balls in batches.
- Fry the balls lightly till golden brown.
- While you are frying the dough balls, heat a cup of water in another pan.
- Add sugar and stir until slightly thickened, add crushed cardamom pods and saffron strands.
- Let the syrup come to a boil and turn off the gas.
- Now put the fried balls in the syrup, serve hot or cold as per your choice.
